After getting embarrassed by the Falcons in Week 12 for their second loss in a row, the Raiders (6-5 SU, 7-4 ATS) are heading to the MetLife Stadium to take on the Jets (0-11 SU, 3-8 ATS) in what could be a perfect matchup for bouncing back. On the other hand, the Jets are still searching for the first win and are hoping to take advantage of the slumping Raiders. The last season’s game between the two teams ended up in a blowout with the Jets dominating the game to win 34-3 despite being +3.5 home underdogs.

There’s been a lot of movement this week with the Raiders opening as the -7.5 favorites and some early action pushing the line to -9 before dropping back to -8 where it stands at the moment. The total hasn’t seen much movement and stands at 46.5 or 47 depending on where you place your bet.
Notes On The Las Vegas Raiders
Only a week after an admirable performance against the defending Super Bowl champions Kansas City, the Raiders came out completely flat in Atlanta and got destroyed by the Falcons. They now stand at a 6-5 record and badly need the win on Sunday to stay in the playoff hunt. QB Derek Carr had a disastrous outing last week posting only 215 passing yards for no touchdowns and one interception before eventually getting subbed in the fourth quarter. The running offense didn’t excel either, with leading rusher Josh Jacobs having a 7-27-0 stat line. Jacobs also suffered an ankle injury in Atlanta and is questionable for Sunday.
Despite the poor performance last week, Derek Carr is capable of putting up big numbers, and playing against the Jets’ passing defense is just what the doctor ordered. Carr will be motivated to prove that the last game was just a bad day and should be considered for a start in all fantasy formats. Another player looking to bounce back from last week’s dud is TE Darren Waller who probably has more scoring potential this week than any other tight end in the league.
Notes On The NY Jets
The New York
Jets remain the only winless team in the league and things didn’t change with Sam Darnold’s return last week as they lost to the Dolphins failing to score more than 10 points for the fourth time this season. In fact, their offense looked better and more efficient while the backup QB Joe Flacco was on the field. Sam Darnold was sacked three times last week and threw for only 197 yards with two interceptions and now has the worst completion percentage of any quarterback in the NFL. With head coach Adam Gase likely on his way out, the Jets seem more interested in beating Jacksonville to the 1st pick in the draft than actually winning football games.
The continued poor offensive play hardly makes any Jets player an attractive fantasy pick. With La’Mical Perine out, Frank Gore could be the one worthy of consideration. He is going to handle most of the carries for the Jets and with the Raiders’ defense allowing 17 rushing touchdowns this season, he could find his way to the end zone.

The Raiders’ road win came mostly on the back of some excellent defensive play, and we should see more of the same on Sunday. On the other hand, they scored only 18 points per contest in their last three away games which, combined with the Jets’ inability to score, should easily take this game into UNDER.
