The Golden Gate Offer Legal Sports Betting In Downtown Las Vegas?
Legal sports betting continues to expand in more and more states in the US. Furthermore, this includes land-based sportsbooks in casino and racetrack venues with planned expansion into online betting. Feeling the heat of competition for the first time, The casinos on the Las Vegas Strip continues to raise the bar with its new sportsbook facilities.
Once the only game in town for legal sports betting in the country, Las Vegas along with the whole state of Nevada is upping the ante. The Golden Gate Hotel and Casino recently launched Circa Sports.
The downtown Las Vegas property is the first venue for Circa Sports headed by company CEO Derek Stevens
The kickoff party at this new sports betting venture’s first land-based book was one to remember. Stevens got the ball rolling with the introduction of a $1.5 million pro football contest. He also unveiled a mobile application for betting. A ceremonial first bet was made with many of Las Vegas’s best bookmakers in attendance.
Circa Sports has adopted a “quests first” approach to doing business. This comes with the promise of “top notch customer service to visitors”. The book is looking to appeal to both betting novices and highly experienced sports bettors. The mobile app for betting expands the venues reach beyond the traditional sportsbook setting.
The opening day festivities also featured a ribbon cutting ceremony with Mike Palm as the vice president of operations and sportsbook director Matt Metcalf.
The actual facility was designed by Moser Architecture Studio. Circa Sports offers a 1,297-square-foot sportsbook at Golden Gate with numerous upgrades such as:
- State-of-the-art video wall
- LED betting boards
- Two stand-alone betting kiosks
The headlined promotion is the ‘Circa Sports Million Pro Football Contest’. It runs all season long and offers $1.5 million in prizes. The grand prize is a $1 million-dollar payout for the winning champion. All eligible players must be at least 21 years old. Participants can register at Golden Gate and there is a $1000 entry fee.
Stevens was quoted as saying:
“The bell has rung and we are thrilled to be taking bets of all kinds with Circa Sports. We intend to bring that old-school Las Vegas vibe to the floor. So there was no better place to bring this to life than in Las Vegas’ most historic hotel, Golden Gate.”
Later in June, plans are in the works to introduce a satellite program. Circa Sports will operate another book at D Las Vegas as a sister property. The expansion plans do not stop there. Also in the works for late 2020 is a multi-level sportsbook. Built-in the style of an actual sports stadium, it will be located at Circa Resort and Casino.
This is a new casino property located in downtown Las Vegas. It has already been coined as a “mecca for sports gamblers”. This will be the first casino resort in the downtown area that is being built new from the ground up in nearly three decades.
