Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Giants Betting Picks, Lines, Odds,& Predictions
The fact that the NFC East teams can hardly beat anyone outside their own division puts an extra layer of importance to the Sunday matchup. Both the Philadelphia Eagles (3-4-1 SU, 3-5 ATS) and the New York Giants (2-7 SU, 6-3 ATS) are aware that winning at MetLife Stadium will bring them one large step closer to the playoffs. The two teams met already in Week 7, with Philly edging out a close 22-21 win in a game where they were -5 favorites.
Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Giants Betting Line Movement
The oddsmakers believe that the Philadelphia Eagles’s extra week for recovery and preparation gives them the edge in this New York Giants matchup, and they are favored by -3 or -3.5 points depending on a bookie. The OVER/UNDER line has seen some rise during the week going from opening 42 to 44.5.
Notes On The Philadelphia Eagles
At the moment the Eagles have the best chances to come out of the miserable NFC East but that doesn’t mean that they have turned into a force or that they will be any sort of threat in the playoffs. Considering that the Eagles play 3 of their next 4 games away from home and that 5 out of the next 6 are against the teams fighting for playoffs, they are in a must-win situation on Sunday in order to create some much-needed cushion at the top of the division. The offense struggled to get going in the last matchup against the Giants, with the fourth-quarter surge needed to secure the narrow win. Don’t expect things to be much different this time as Carson Wentz, who leads the league in both interceptions and being sacked, will have a tough time facing New York’s strong defensive line and secondary.
However, in terms of numbers, Wentz did pretty good three weeks ago, throwing for 359 yards and two touchdowns. Still, if you’re looking at the Eagles, there are better fantasy picks. RB Miles Sanders is set to play for the first time since week 6 and is poised to have a good game against New York’s poor run defense, especially if he gets more involved in the passing game.
Notes On The New York Giants
The Giants are coming off a win against Washington, where they saw their early lead slip away, but managed to hold on in the fourth quarter. It was only their second win this season, but most of their losses came in tight games, and they covered the spread 6 times in 9 games. The feeling around the league is that this team has more potential than the standings may show. Their success in the Eagles game will mostly depend on the performance of their defense. Carson Wentz is the most sacked QB this season, and the Giants defense led by Leonard Williams who already has 5 sacks in this campaign, will look to put some pressure on him.
QB Daniel Jones has undeniable talent, but has often struggled behind an unreliable offensive line. The game last week was the first time he didn’t turn the ball over and considering his solid performance in the previous Eagles matchup he could be a sneaky good fantasy pick this time. RB Wayne Gallman is making the most of his chances while Devonta Freeman is out and has posted a touchdown for three straight weeks. If Freeman sits out this game too, Gallman is also a decent option.
Week 10 Betting Pick:Philadelphia Eagles-3
The Philadelphia Eagles will be fully rested for this game against the New York Giants, and they are slowly getting healthier. They are extremely motivated for this game knowing the stakes and the tough schedule that awaits them. Look for them to be aggressive early on and impose themselves from the start. Miles Sanders’ return will provide a boost for their offense and provide an alternative scoring option if the Giants manage to stifle Philly’s passing game.
