NFL Week 13 Prime Time Betting Picks
The coronavirus continues to impact the NFL schedule. The prime-time showdowns in Week 13 feature one Sunday night game and a pair of Monday night matchups.
Sunday Night Football- Denver Broncos (4-7) at Kansas City Chiefs (10-1)
BetOnline has opened Kansas City as heavy 14-point favorites for this AFC West matchup. The betting line for the total set at 50 ½ points.
Denver had to play New Orleans with a replacement quarterback due to coronavirus infections. The 31-3 loss was predictable. Kansas City continued to roll with a 27-24 road win against Tampa Bay. The Chiefs are 10-1 SU but they have failed to cover in their last three games.
The total went OVER 46 points in the first meeting with the Chiefs winning 43-16. I going with the UNDER this time around with a strong defensive effort by Kansas City.
Monday Night Football- Washington Football Team (4-7) at Pittsburgh Steelers (10-0)
In the first of two Monday night games, Pittsburgh is a 9 ½-point home favorite in the early 5 p.m. (ET) start. The total line for this game is 44 points.
Washington comes into Week 13 tied for first in the dismal NFC East. The four SU wins came against teams with worse records, including two against Dallas. Pittsburgh had its Thanksgiving tilt against Baltimore moved to this Wednesday’s night.
The short turnaround could impact the Steelers on Monday night. However, they should still win this game going away.
Monday Night Football- Buffalo Bills (8-3) at San Francisco 49ers (5-6)
The Bills head to the West Coast as slight 2 ½-point road favorites for this inter-conference clash. The total is set at 48 points.
Buffalo is battling with Miami for the division title in the AFC East. It has won four of its last five games SU while covering in the last three. The total has gone OVER in eight of 11 games this season. San Francisco snapped a three-game skid (SU and ATS) by upsetting the Los Angeles Rams 23-20. It closed as a 5 ½-point road underdog.
The Bills have covered in their last five inter-conference games. They have a great chance to cover again only giving 2 ½ points. The 49ers remain one of the more banged-up teams in the league.
NFL Week 13 Betting Trends:
With 15 of 16 games completed in the NFL Week 12 schedule, the underdogs were the best bet. They managed to cover in 10 of those contests. The home team had a slight edge at 8-7 ATS. The total stayed UNDER in nine of 15 games.
Turning to the year-to-date NFL betting trends, the SU split between home and road teams is basically even. When it comes to the winning percentage ATS, the numbers are almost the same with a 50/50 split.
The best bet has been underdogs at home with a 58.2 winning percentage through 67 games. Underdogs in general have covered 56.8 percent of the time. The total line has evened out to become a 50/50 betting proposition.
