NFL Week 12 Prime Time Betting Picks
Thanksgiving night is highlighted by a huge showdown in the AFC North. Both Sunday night and Monday night’s Week 12 matchups feature NFC playoff contenders. Now, let’s dig into NFL week 12 primetime betting picks.
Thursday Night Football- Baltimore Ravens (6-4) at Pittsburgh Steelers (10-0)
MyBookie has opened the Steelers as four-point home favorites against the bitter AFC North rivals . The total for this game is 45 points.
Baltimore came up short against Pittsburgh on Nov. 1 with a 28-24 loss at home as a four-point favorite. With last Sunday’s home loss to Tennessee, the Ravens are 1-3 straight-up in their last four games. They are 1-4 against the spread in their last five outings.
Pittsburgh continues to roll as the only undefeated team in the NFL and it is 8-2 ATS. It would be hard to bet against the Steelers at home given their current form.
Sunday Night Football-Chicago Bears (5-5) at Green Bay Packers (7-3)
Green Bay is set as a 6 ½-point home favorite against the NFC North rival Bears. The betting line for the total is 45 points.
Chicago went into last week’s bye with a SU four-game losing streak (1-3 ATS). This is a tough spot to turn things around. The Bears have lost 10 of their last 12 road games against Green Bay SU. They are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games overall.
The Packers were on the wrong side of a 34-31 overtime loss to Indianapolis. They closed as slight 1 ½-point road underdogs. They are an even 3-3 SU and 2-4 ATS in their last six games. None the less, covering the 6 ½ points at home this Sunday night should not be an issue.
Monday Night Football- Seattle Seahawks (7-3) at Philadelphia Eagles (3-6-1)
The Seahawks head to the East Coast as 5 ½-point road favorites for Monday night’s battle of NFC birds. The total for the game is 50 ½ points.
Seattle’s recent two-game skid (SU and ATS) came to an end last Thursday with an important 28-21 home victory against Arizona. Going on the road this Sunday against Philadelphia could be more of a test than expected. The Seahawks have lost their last three road games both SU and ATS.
The Eagles were in an excellent position to create some breathing room atop the dismal NFC East. Yet, they failed to show up in losses to the New York Giants and Cleveland the past two weeks. Given the poor play of this offensive unit lately, the total should stay UNDER 50 ½ points.
NFL Betting Trends:
Home underdogs were able to cover in four of five games in week 11. Home teams, in general, went 9-5 ATS. The total stayed UNDER in eight of the 14 games.
Underdogs remain the best bet year-to-date with a winning percentage of 55.9 ATS. Road underdogs have covered the closing number 55.3 percent of the time. The split between home teams and road teams, in general, is close to 50/50 using the closing spread.
The total has gone OVER in 51.9 percent of NFL games this season.
