Monday Night Football: Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs New York Giants Picks, Odds, Lines, Props, Parlays, & Predictions
In this week’s edition of the Monday Night Football, the Buccaneers (5-2 SU, 4-3 ATS) travel up the east coast for a visit to the Giants (1-6 SU, 4-3 ATS), a matchup they’ve won only once in the last eight games. However, Monday’s meeting should be a different story, with Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay in excellent form and New York at the bottom of the dreadful NFC East.
Monday Night Football: Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs New York Giants Line Movement
A lot of early money on the away team has moved the line from the opening -9.5 in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers favor all the way to 12.5 or 13, depending on the bookie. The total has dropped from 47 to 45. It’s worth noting that the last 5 games between these two have ended in an OVER.
Thoughts On The Tampa Bay Buccaneers
After a bit of a rocky start, it seems that Tom Brady has fully settled in Tampa Bay as evidenced by 5 wins in the last six games on the back of some impressive performances of their quarterback. In that span, Brady averaged 290.8 passing yards per game, adding 15 passing touchdowns and just one interception. Of course, this wouldn’t be worth much without almost impenetrable defense, forcing the second-most interceptions in the league and limiting the opposition’s running game to 3.6 or fewer yards per carry in six of their seven games.
The New York Giants have allowed 12 passing touchdowns in seven games and Tom Brady could be in for another monster fantasy score. With Chris Goodwin out, his main target will be Mike Evans who should have a fair share of chances after being mostly quiet in the last two games. RB Ronald Jones scored a touchdown against the Raiders, but Leonard Fourentte is back in full health and the two will be sharing the rushing load.
Thoughts On The New York Giants
The Giants find themselves in all kinds of trouble at the moment beginning with last week’s squandering of the 11-point fourth-quarter lead against the Eagles. They also have a Covid-19 situation on their hands with Will Hernandez testing positive and a couple of players caught not practicing pandemic guidelines while at a bar. This led to eight players and two staff members being away from the practice facility this week. The rookie QB Daniel Jones is having a nightmarish season, and the embarrassing fall on an 80-yard run against Philadelphia will not do much to help his confidence. The defense has been actually decent so far keeping the opponents under 22 points in the last 4 of 6 games.
In fantasy terms, there’s not much to choose from when it comes to Giants. Judging by the Philly game, WR Sterling Shepard could be an option. He was pretty solid after missing four weeks due to the injury, with six catches out of eight targets and a touchdown. He seemed to have a good understanding of Daniel Jones and is probably the only Giants player worth looking into against the scary Tampa Bay defense.
Monday Night Football: Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs New York Giants Pick Tampa Bay -12.5
Even with a line this high, it’s difficult to look beyond the Buccaneers in this matchup. The Giants have been competitive in the last three games, but Tampa Bay is a whole different proposition than their NFC East competitors.
