Florida Gators vs. Georgia Bulldogs Betting Picks, Odds, Lines, & Predictions
The Gators (3-1 SU, 2-2 ATS), No8 at the moment, and the Bulldogs (4-1 SU, 2-3 ATS), ranked fifth, will square off on Saturday in a game with pretty high stakes where the winner most likely taking SEC East and getting a chance to take on Alabama in the SEC championship. For either side, losing will probably end their playoff hopes. Currently, the Georgia Bulldogs are on a 3-game winning streak against their rivals, covering the spread in all three of them.
Florida Gators vs. Georgia Bulldogs Betting Line Movement
The Bulldogs opened as the -2.5 favorites and with a lot of early money backing them, the line has moved all the way to -4.5 before dropping again and is now settled at -3 at most bookies. The total is set at 54 or 53.5 depending on the sportsbook, a small rise from the initial 52.5. It’s worth mentioning that in the last nine games between these two teams, only three went OVER.
Thoughts On The Florida Gators
With the game against the LCU Tigers postponed due to Covid-19, the Gators have played only two games in the last month, losing on the road to Texas A&M before destroying Missouri 41-17 at home. Similar to most of the season, the decisive factor in the Missouri game was Florida’s offense, definitely proving to be one of the nation’s best.
Quarterback Kyle Trask continued with excellent performances, throwing for 345 yards and four touchdowns, and adding 47 rushing yards. Trask now has 1341 yards and 18 touchdowns this season and is emerging as a strong candidate for the Heisman Trophy. His favorite target, TE Kyle Pitts is also putting a string of impressive performances with seven touchdowns already under his belt. The running game, led by Dameon Pierce, is working fine, too, with an average of 133.8 rushing yards per game.
Still, the issues for Florida are on the other side of the ball. The defense has been rather leaky this whole season, allowing 433 yards and 29.3 points per game.
Thoughts On The Georgia Bulldogs
Georgia‘s also managed to bounce back in the last game, winning the defensive battle against Kentucky Wildcats one week after their first defeat of the season at Alabama. They put in one of the best defensive performances we’ve seen in football this season allowing Kentucky only 91 passing and 229 total yards.
However, opposite to Florida, it’s their offense that is having trouble to get going. QB Stetson Bennet has struggled with interceptions for the better part of the season with his tally already at five. The Bulldogs’ attack is mostly reliant on their running game averaging 175 yards per game. Their main rushing weapon, RB Zamir White was dominant once again last week with 136 yards and a touchdown adding to his season total which now stands at 6. Nevertheless, the head coach Kirby Smart will have to find a way to get his passing game going if he is to get anything out of the big game on Saturday.
Florida Gators vs. Georgia Bulldogs Betting Pick = OVER 53.5
The Bulldogs do feature one of the stingiest defenses in the country, but we are confident that Trask and his offense will find a way to put up points against them. On the other hand, even though Bennet is anything but reliable, he should be able to have a good game facing the defense as bad as Florida’s, taking the game comfortably into OVER.
