Why Isn’t Matsuyama The Favorite After The Masters Win?
Ten years after making his debut as the best amateur at Augusta National, Matsuyama made history at the Masters by becoming the first Japanese winner of a green jacket.
Jordan Spieth was eliminated in the third round, Rory McIlroy finished 38th, and Tiger Woods missed the cut.
The 29-year-old man has a lead of six shots on the back nine. He made a two on the 15th hole, but Xander Schauffele earned birdies.
Schauffele’s tee shot hit the hill and went into the water. He had to take a longer shot. That was why he got a triple-bogey 6. Matsuyama has odds to win next year at +2500 in Masters betting odds.
Matsuyama (-7, -6), Chesson Hadley (-5) Spieth (-5), Rahm (-4) and Leishman (-4) finished behind Schauffele.
Matsuyama’s highest-ever finish at the PGA Championship is a T-4 in 2016. He then got T-5, T-35, and T-16. Matsuyama has never missed the cut at the PGA Championship.
Will Tiger Woods Miss The 2021 PGA Championship?
Tiger Woods, who has 16 major championships to his credit, is unable to resume the hunt for a 17th after being involved in a single-vehicle accident on February 24.
Woods suffered “comminuted open fractures” on his tibia and fibula in his right leg, according to a tweet announcing the diagnosis.
Police said that Woods told them he had no idea how the accident happened. They did not find any evidence that he was drunk or on drugs.
Whenever Tiger Woods isn’t in a tournament, it’s like he never existed. He is really important, especially during majors.
Should You Bet On Morikawa Go Back to Back At The PGA Championship?
Collin Morikawa was 23 years, six months and three days old in 2020 when he won the PGA Championship. Woods also won a PGA at 23.
Morikawa is the third player since 1970 to win a major in two or fewer starts after his U.S. Open appearance this year. He also won the PGA Championship in his debut event.Morikawa’s weekend rounds of 65-64 for 129 set the best 36-hole score in history. This is better than when Tiger Woods did it. Morikawa tied Steve Elkington, who did it in 1995.
Morikawa is a household name on the PGA Tour, and American golfers hope he’ll be back with an international championship this year.
At the 2020 PGA Championship, Paul Casey, Dustin Johnson, Jason Day, Matthew Wolff, Scottie Scheffler and Tony Finau were behind Morikawa. He is at +2800.
What Is The Best Bet To Win the PGA Championship?
The PGA Betting Odds For Xander Schauffele Are +2200
Along with Rickie Fowler, Schauffele is one of the best golfers on the PGA Tour who has never won a major title. He is 27 years old, so he has plenty of time to win a major. You should not let the odds scare you.
Schauffele has had a lot of close calls. He has 6 top-fives and 8 top-10s in 15 major starts. He also won the Greenbrier Classic after starting his round on Friday morning, and then continuing on Saturday morning to finish off his weekend golfing.
Since 2017, Schauffele has missed the cut in one PGA Championship. He has also finished in 35th place, 16th place and 10th place at PGA Championships.
He did not play well on the back nine at Augusta. This is a big deal because he has natural talent and could be a major champion. It’s only a matter of time before he wins, and it looks like there will be an opportunity for him to do so in 2021.
